Find the real Depleted groups and avoid the Knights of Xeno…

December 30, 2011 in Apocrypha, Canon, News by Jeremy Hanke

As the future becomes more fascinating  in the World of Depleted, as we’ve learned more about the Cymbrogi, Gavin, and other secrets of this World, the Knights of Xeno have been trying to strike back.  Even though they hate technology, they’ve enlisted the help of spammers to try and create false groups throughout the Depleted contributor site.  Only the shrewdest of Dark Dreamers will be able to distinguish them.  Do you have what it takes to find and join one of the true groups of World of Depleted?

Some will even have links to special voicemails you can hear from Gavin.

Halloween is always better with Gothic glamour…

October 29, 2011 in Canon, News, Writings by Jeremy Hanke

This Halloween, you can look forward to the newest Canonical World of Depleted story, WoD: Family Retreat.  A delightfully delicious story that looks at the hidden Cymbrogi faction with their Gothic roots, and gives more hints to Gavin Hesterdale and the factions of Tekothik, Order of the Steel Rood, and the Reapers!

This Halloween it’s treats before treats from us at World of Depleted!

New navigation tweaks…

October 5, 2011 in News by Jeremy Hanke

We’ve been listening to a lot of thoughts from our contributors about navigation in the Contributor area and we’ve moved on to adjust some of those things to simplify things a lot! Top things we’re doing:

1) Got rid of the redundant navigation for logging in and out in the top bar.  The sidebar has your login for the contributor site, so we pared it down simply to an “Outer Site” link at the top for you to return to the main World of Depleted area

2) Since the World area is supposed to have all of the pieces of Depleted in one location, we’ve put the Challenges, the submission links, and the resources into the World navigation along with the content.  This should make things much easier for our contributors!

3) Finally, we’ve got an About link which allows people to find out more about the concept of the community, info about contributing, and contact info.

Take a look at the new changes and see if they make more sense to you!

New Beta about to roll out…

September 15, 2011 in News by Jeremy Hanke

With the beta testing of the World of Depleted Inner Cloister, we’ve found a number of things people would love to see made more user friendly!  (Special thanks to all of you who’ve brought up changes you’d like to see or the confusion you’ve felt!)  As such, we’ve been working to get out a new beta that should have almost all of these improvements and streamlining in them!  We look forward to giving you a chance to help us finalize this community and roll forward with new content!

Secret Factions Within the World of Depleted…

September 9, 2011 in Canon, News by Jeremy Hanke

Secret societies and cabals have long since made some of the most interesting perpetrators in stories and novels.  Recent stories by Fred Koskin have hinted at one quasi-secret society, but, as you can imagine, there are more.

After receiving some questions about this, I am now willing to confirm that, along with a variety of public and private factions within the World of Depleted, there are indeed some secret factions and invisible societies.  Hidden from search or public awareness, these factions will privately recruit members of other factions and bring them into new secrets within the World of Depleted, so long as they gather information for the secret society in question.  Although technically sworn to secrecy by these secret groups, it would be unlikely if no plot information or secrets ever trickled out from some of these group members!

Yahoo registration issue for the Inner Cloister…

September 9, 2011 in News by Jeremy Hanke

If you’ve been trying to sign up with a yahoo account, we’ve had people email us that they haven’t gotten an activation email and can’t get into the Inner cloister.  This is most likely because Yahoo’s spam filters are so brutal that they have a tendency to squash anything that’s not a personal email.  As such, look in your Yahoo spam folders and see if you find the following email:

[The World of Depleted Inner Cloister] New User Registration

In this email will be your activation code that will get you into the World of Depleted Contributor site.  If you cannot find this email, email me at: info@worldofdepleted.com with your preferred login name, actual name, and email.  I will then set it up for you directly!

Thanks,

Jeremy

Sign Ups are good to go…

September 7, 2011 in News by Jeremy Hanke

Sign ups are now corrected so you should be able to log in just fine.  Additionally, the Reply To glitch has been taken care of, so communication between everyone should be restored.  If you haven’t signed up and requested to be in the Dark Dreamers group, I would encourage you to do so, as we just made the Blood of Martyrs script available to read to Dark Dreamers.  (Eventually, each group will have access to source materials that are different than others to give people a feel for the way in which information is distributed in this type of world and to encourage basic role playing to gather information!)
